Product guide
What Egypt ETA Base does, what it does not do, and the questions buyers ask.
One ETA connection, shared — so you buy the filing module you need and not the other one.
Holds the Egyptian Tax Authority credentials, obtains and refreshes the access token, and carries the ETA item, unit and tax code mappings. Free. On its own it files nothing — it is what the e-Invoice and e-Receipt modules both stand on.
Pick the filing module you need
This base module holds the ETA connection only. It files nothing on its own. Add the one that matches your obligation. Both share this base, so the connection is set up once.
Egypt ETA e-Invoice
Customer invoices and credit notes (B2B / B2G). Validates before sending, signs with your eSeal, and tracks each document until ETA says Valid, Invalid or Rejected.
Egypt ETA e-Receipt
Point-of-sale receipts (B2C), submitted per POS device in the Authority's v1.2 structure. For shops, restaurants and anyone issuing till receipts.
Why this module exists
e-Invoice and e-Receipt authenticate to the same Authority with the same credentials over the same transport. That shared part used to live inside e-Invoice, which meant e-Receipt required it — and the Apps Store bills a module together with what it requires, so a business that only needed receipts was quoted for both.
Moving it here fixes that. Each filing module is now bought on its own, at its own price. If you need both, this one is still installed once and shared, and you are not charged twice for it.
What is in it
The ETA connection Identity and API URLs, client id and secret, taxpayer registration number, branch and activity code, and the signing service URL. One record per company, isolated by company.
Token handling Obtains an access token and refreshes it before it expires rather than after a 401. A token that dies mid-submission costs a filing round trip, which is the Authority's own guidance.
Credential separation Two access levels. ETA User prepares and files. ETA Administrator holds the credentials. An accountant needs the first and has no business with the second.
The code mappings ETA will not accept a free-text product or unit. The item type and item code live on the product, the unit code on the unit of measure, and the tax type and subtype on the tax — on the records your accountant already maintains, not in a separate table nobody updates.
See it working
A real recording, not a mock-up. The one connection e-Invoice and e-Receipt both use — environment, taxpayer, branch — and the ETA item type and code as they sit on the product, which is where a taxpayer maintains them. Recorded on Odoo 18.0 Community .
Which module do you actually need?
Sales invoices and credit notes Egypt ETA e-Invoice. Builds, validates, signs, submits and tracks documents with the Authority.
Point-of-sale receipts Egypt ETA e-Receipt. Files receipts per till in the documented v1.2 structure, chained per device.
Both Install both. This module is shared between them and is installed once.
Neither, yet Then this module does nothing useful on its own. It is a dependency, not a product.
Support
This module is free, and it is supported as part of the paid module you installed it for. If e-Invoice or e-Receipt does not behave as its page describes, email info@technovision.dev with your Odoo version, edition and hosting. That is included in the price of those modules and needs no paid plan.
